Why Are My Ends Always Splitting?
The first remedy for stopping Split-Ends is getting a True-Trim. There are trims, and then there’s save my hair from thinning trims. When a trim is done horizontally all over by pulling the hair straight down to clip off the ends, this is not a True-Trim. A True-Trim is a horizontal and vertical clipping off of the ends throughout the entire head. The inside layers of the hair are often missed. Neglecting these layers is how the hair becomes thin, lifeless, brittle, and frizzy. True-Trims gives the hair fullness and helps styles such as roller sets and body last longer.
Another way to help control Split-Ends is by wearing protective hairstyles, as long as they are done correctly. Because these styles are in for months at a time, they lack detangling and conditioning, so it is important to check on your ends regularly.
Other remedies to help:
Use hydrating & moisturizing hair products, NOT high-protein, alcohol, bergamot hair oils, and silicon products.
Keep heated styling tools on lower temps.
Don’t braid the ends of your hair tightly or wear scarves, bonnets, and hairbands too tightly.
Check your hairbrush for bent or broken bristles that can catch your hair.
Children who are in sports keep their hair shampooed at least every 2 weeks.
