ADOPTIVE & FOSTER PARENTS TO BLACK CHILDREN

Did you know that the type of hairstyle you wear with Black Hair determines how fast the hair will grow?

STYLES Afro styles are adorable but have a lot of upkeep especially the longer the length. Daily regimen requires before bed, detangle, moisturize, twist in large sections, and wrap the head with a silk scarf so that by morning you can easily twist out, pick, and shape the hair.

Curly styles/Wash-N-Go can be carefree but challenging depending on the thickness and texture because of the detangling needed. Daily regimen requires wetting the hair every morning preferably with a moisturizing spray conditioner, and, or water, add moisturizing products or styler. Spruce the curls using your fingers, not a comb. Sleep on a silk pillowcase at night. Every 5-7 days shampoo and comb conditioner through the hair.

Natural Protective Hairstyles are the fastest way to grow Black hair. These hairstyles keep the hair confined which locks in moisture and grows healthier hair. Medium to Large Braids, Locks, Two-Strand-Twists, Updos, and Flat Twists are low-maintenance hairstyles that require TIME to create but pay off in the long run due to the hair not needing to be combed daily. Black hair thrives when it doesn’t need detangling often. Daily regimen requires oiling the scalp with hair grease twice a week, spraying with a moisturizing oil daily, sleeping on a satin pillowcase, or wearing a silk scarf to bed.
